DESIGN CONCEPT & LOGO DEVELOPMENT
Acclaimed event producer Marcy Blum, named a top planner in the world by Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, approached us to design the event branding for her luxury client celebration. Inspired by concert posters with a vintage sensibility, the identity draws from the historic architecture of the Capitol Theatre, using its iconic façade and stage presence as the foundation of the event poster and logo.
The hand-illustrated style, rich textures, and vibrant color palette nod to vintage gig posters, while a descending disco ball anchors the composition and reinforces the celebratory tone. The illustration unfolds like a theatrical set, creating a warm, crafted visual language rooted in music, place, and performance.
CUSTOM SCREEN PRINTS
We created two custom screen print posters as commemorative keepsakes for the event: a five-color print on rainbow foil with a monochrome palette, and an eight-color edition showcasing the full vibrancy of the illustration. Designed as special gifts for guests, friends, and family, the prints served as lasting mementos of the celebration.
Printed by the team at Monolith Press.
INVITATION PACKAGE
The invitation package offered guests their first physical encounter with the branding. Designed as a fold-out inspired by street-team gig fliers, the outer piece opened into a full-color poster featuring the GemFest illustration and logo. Inside, the formal invitation and RSVP card were finished with foil-accented type and custom holographic stickers, setting the tone for the event experience.
MERCH DESIGNS
We designed a fully custom merchandise collection for the event, including tees, specialty hoodies, laminated passes, lanyards, stickers, temporary tattoos, merch tickets, and a Capitol Theatre tote. Each piece was designed as a cohesive extension of the brand, and as a keepsake for guests to take home and remember the celebration.
