FESTIVAL IDENTITY CONCEPT
For the 2027 Master of Tides cruise, we set out to create a visual identity that felt fresh and radically different for Lindsey Stirling. Inspired by her Roundtable Revival music video, the concept blends Western and steampunk influences in a seaside setting, with Lindsey seated on a weathered cargo box, her violin bow strapped across her back. She’s surrounded by mechanical sea creatures, rope, and a lantern, while the ocean and a distant ship extend the scene beyond the shoreline. A gritty, textured illustration style and more muted palette ground the concept and give the world a darker, more cinematic edge.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
We began with a compositional sketch that served as the foundation for the entire identity, focusing on unifying the Western, steampunk, and nautical influences into a single, cohesive visual world. Next, we illustrated and digitized the elements, applying textures and muted colors to match the more gritty vibe of this years branding.
The logo was reworked to reflect the updated look and feel while building on established visual cues from previous years. A more muted color palette, layered textures, and hand-painted watercolor backgrounds were then applied to reinforce the grit, atmosphere, and setting of the scene.
FINE ART & COLORS
The palette draws from muted, earthy tones, enhanced with hand-painted watercolor elements that were scanned and incorporated to add depth and a tactile feel—sand, worn leather, oxidized metal, and deep ocean blues—with warmer accents and subtle metallics. Textures and weathered surfaces were added to give the illustration grit and a sense of mechanical adventure, keeping the overall look cohesive and versatile across digital and print applications.
FINAL DESIGN & STYLE GUIDE
After finalizing the admat design, we established a comprehensive toolkit of visual elements. The style guide serves as a reference tool, streamlining the content creation process for our clients by cohesively laying out logo usage guidelines, color palette, typography, supporting graphics, and background elements. The components of this guide and its effectiveness remain at the forefront of our creative process from concept through execution.
