POSTER CONCEPT
This poster design concept is intended to embody Regina Spektor’s strong yet uniquely soft presence through layered, hand-illustrated portraits. The overlapping imagery creates movement and contrast, reflecting her expressive style while maintaining an intimate, ethereal quality. The four-color screen printing process allows the overlapping layers to create additional colors, showcasing Regina in various poses, expressions, and artistic styles within a cohesive and striking composition. Her name is rendered in an elegant script, printed in gold ink for a luminous, refined effect.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
The design began with sketching various portraits each capturing different facets of Regina Spektor’s persona, that we then created as detailed pen-and-ink illustrations. These drawings were then digitized and vectorized, refining the composition while preserving the hand-drawn quality. Once finalized, we prepared the artwork for a four-color screen print, carefully separating layers to achieve rich textures and depth. The final print showcases the organic nature of screen printing, where colors blend in subtle, unique ways, bringing the artwork to life.
